This weekend, the Make A Wish Colorado Kickball Tournament was a huge success! Rebel Popcorn donated popcorn for the raffle. In total, they raised over $71,000 to grant wishes to children with life threatening illnesses.
Kick It For Stirling
We were contacted by Liz, the leader of the only Northern Colorado team. This was their 4th year playing in the tournament. Liz's son Stirling was born with only 1 1/2 chamber heart, and his first four years were filled with hospital stays. When he was three years old, Make A Wish sent Stirling and his family to Disney World. While medical teams kept Stirling alive, the trip let Stirling and his family really live.
They decided to get involved in Make A Wish to pay it forward and help other families get their wishes. For this year's tournament, their team raised over $2,100.
We love getting involved in things like this, even if our participation is minimal. One of the really wonderful things about starting Rebel Popcorn is the vehicle it gives us to get involved in and give back to our community.
We would love to put together our own kickball team next year, so if you're interested in joining us, please let us know! Drop by the Tasting Room and give us your info so we can coordinate with you.
